60 Patients On Trolleys At University Hospital Limerick

Hospital trolleys

Nurses say 60 patients have been left waiting for beds at the region’s main hospital today.

The level of overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick is on the rise once again, despite a slight dip in numbers yesterday.

The latest INMO figures show there were 43 on trolleys in the emergency department this morning, with a further 17 being accommodated in overflow areas of wards.

It means the Dooradoyle facility is the busiest in the country, where there are 21 more patients on trolleys than the next busiest hospital.
