The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is on the rise again following the weekend.

The latest INMO figures show 57 patients were left waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 32 of those in the emergency department.

The overall figure is 5 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 339 people have been left waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
