Clare’s Independent TD has announced that he will support a Sinn Féin motion of No Confidence in the Health Minister Simon Harris.

Deputy Michael Harty says he has made his decision in light of a Clare FM report that the 60-bed modular unit at Dooradoyle will now not open until mid-2020 at the earliest, even though there had been an expectation that it would be delivered for this winter.

The Kilmihil GP, who chairs the Oireachtas Health Committee, says he has “lost trust in this Minister and this government as a result of the lack of commitment to delivering on this project as promised.”
