Bathing restrictions have been lifted at Kilkee beach.
The ban was originally put in place last Wednesday due to a malfunction in a local pumping station which led to a discharge of wastewater into a stream.
However, it was then extended into this week after heavy rains over the weekend led to the possibility of increased levels of bacteria in the bathing water.

Tests were carried out on Monday, and following analysis and HSE advice, Clare County Council has announed that all restrictions have been lifted.
