The Government wants Egypt to allow an independent doctor visit Ibrahim Halawa in jail.
The Dubliner’s health is understood to be deteriorating rapidly – his family says he is receiving glucose injections to keep him alive.
It comes as his trial is due to come before the courts today. However it has already been postponed 19 times.
