The Head of the Clare Garda Division is personally examining some of the thousands of false breath tests recorded in Clare.
Chief Superintendent John Kerin has confirmed that he is investigating 20 sample cases, after a recent report on the matter found there had been 45,000 fake breath tests recorded in his division.
This is part of a nationwide total of 1.9 million.
