Gardaí across Munster have until this evening to charge or release 11 members of one family arrested in relation to the alleged sexual exploitation of a number of children.

A year-long investigation culminated in the arrest of six women and five men in Limerick, Cork and Tipperary in a series of raids on homes.

They’re being held in Shannon and Ennis, as well as stations in Limerick and Cork, and their period of detention was extended this morning by 12 hours.
