Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses Follow Fatal Collision In Limerick

Gardaí are appealing for witnessees following a fatal collision in Limerick overnight.

A 40 year-old male padestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a car on Kileely Road in Thomondgate, shortly after half eleven last night.

He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, a man in his late 20s, was uninjured.

The road has been closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigation and local traffic diversions are in place.
