A Garda sergeant reportedly rescued a woman from the River Fergus in Ennis over the weekend.
The alarm was raised shortly after 4 yesterday morning when a passer-by alerted Gardaí that a woman had gone into the water at the Club bridge.
Officers rushed to the scene and the Garda sergeant was able to wade into the water to secure her.
