Garda Injured In Kimmage Attack

A member of the Gardaí has been attacked in Dublin overnight.

It's understood he observed an incident at a green area in Ravensdale Park in Kimmage and was attacked by an individual when he went to investigate.

The Garda suffered a blow to the head and other members of the force came to his aid before he was taken to St James hospital for treatment.

His injuries aren't believed to be life threatening.

The Garda is based at Sundrive Road station, and Gardaí at Crumlin are investigating.  No arrests have been made.
