Meanwhile, in West Clare, a number of homes and businesses are experiencing electricity and water outages as a result of the stormy weather overnight.

29 households are without power in the Kilkee area, with the service expected to be restored by 5 o’clock this evening.

Irish Water is warning customers that supply may be disrupted nearby also due to the power loss.

The water system is expected to be back up and running by 6 o’clock.

A weather warning’s in place until 9 o’clock tonight and may cause localised flooding in some areas.

Temperatures in the region of 20 degrees also mean it will stay humid.
