Clare County Council has given it’s backing to Sean Gallagher’s Presidential candidacy, as it appears increasingly likely that the businessman will be on the ballot paper in the race for the Aras later this year.
A motion supporting Mr Gallagher’s candidacy was passed by Clare Councillors last evening – he also received the conditional support of councils in Donegal and Roscommon, adding to that of Longford
The decisions won’t become official until the order for the Presidential election is signed – most likely in September – but the support of four local authoirities is enough for him to be allowed run in the election.
