Around €400,000 in Council funding is to be diverted to allow for increased community development.
Once every five years, the Council sets out development contributions and a recent proposal that 30% is set aside for urban, rural and community development has been accepted.
Concerns have been raised by some Councillors in East and North Clare that vital roads projects such as Blake’s Corner and the Killaloe River Crossing Project would lose out on funding as a result.
