A provisional budget of 1.6 million euro has been granted by the Department of Housing to build eight new homes at Beach Court, Roslevan, Ennis.

These will include two two-bedroom single-story homes, five three bedroom houses, and one four-bedroom house.

Just over 1.2 million of the funds will be allocated to Clare County Council for the construction of the houses, while the remainder ios being provided for site costs, technical fees, salaries and utilities.

This latest funding follows on from the provision of 3.6 million earlier this year for a links road, which will make way for the construction of 200 new homes at Claureen.

Since 2015, Clare County Council has acquired 172 extra houses and refurbished 175 vacant Local Authority homes.
