Fukushima plant evacuated after dangerous radiation levels

 

Staff at the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan have returned to work, after a rise in radiation levels.

Workers were forced to temporarily abandon the facility earlier after radiation reached dangerous levels.

But authorities, who were concerned about smoke and steam billowing from reactor three, have now allowed the workers back in.

The Emperor of Japan has said he’s praying for the people’s safety following last week’s deadly earthquake and tsunami.

Emperor Akihito has also expressed his deep concern about the escalating nuclear crisis.
