Fresh Concern About Ennis Tax Being Spent Elsewhere

Fresh concern is being expressed that money collected by Clare County Council from Ennis taxpayers is being siphoned off to other parts of the county.

Councillors in the county town voted in favour of approving the draft budget of €199,400 earlier this week – that was a reduction of €75,000 on last year.

But it’s led to concern from Fine Gael Councillor Johnny Flynn, who believes it will provide for just €6 per person living in the district, where it was €400 per person when town councils were in existence.
