A Kilkee woman who has suffered from chronic back pain for years is issuing a fresh call on the government to fund pain relief patches for people in her shoes.
Jennifer O’Meara was part of the Patch Us Back Up campaign calling for the reinstatement of Versatis patches to all, which this week disbanded because of the difficulties in mobilising its members.
Since the end of last year, new HSE rules have meant that access to the patches is restricted and they are no longer covered for many medical card patients.
