Fresh Calls For Clare’s Rural Resettlement Programme To Reignite As Homeless Figures Rise

Fresh calls have been made for Clare’s rural resettlement programme to be restarted and rolled out nationally to address rising homeless figures.

Cork TD Michael Collins believes there are rural areas crying out for a boost in population, while the cities and towns are bursting at the seems.

Kilbaha-based Rural Resettlement Ireland, founded by Jim Connolly, rehomed around 800 families to the west of Ireland from the likes of Dublin before ceasing trading in 2017.
