Stage three of the Junior Cycle Tour of Ireland travels a 104 kilometre route along West and North Clare.

Cyslists are passing through Inagh, Spanish Point, Quilty, Lahinch, Liscannor, the Cliffs of Moher, Kilfenora and Corofin today before finishing up in Ennis.

A number of cyclists got into difficulty this lunchtime after they collided on the N85 Ennis to Ennistymon Road, close to the landfill site in Inagh.

Four cyclists were treated at the scene by Clare Civil Defence volunteers who were travelling with the cycle tour.

Two were then taken by ambulance to Ennis General Hospital, while two more have been transferred to University Hospital Limerick.

It’s understood their injuries are not serious.

There was traffic disruption on the N85 for a time earlier, but this scene has since been cleared.

The Junior Cycle Tour of Ireland continues.
