This morning’s search was carried out by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Rathkeale.

The operation was targeting offences of deception, involving the purchase and sale of vintage cars.

Gardai say 20 cars with a total value of 360 thousand euro are subject to investigation.

Many of the victims are said to be elderly people, while it’s believed there could be many more across the country.

Four men have been arrested in connection with the investigation, and are being held in Garda stations across Limerick.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who believes they may have been deceived in the sale or purchase of a vintage car to contact their local station.
