A former Clare Labour TD has labelled some government officials racist – as he hits out at Ireland’s hypocritical attitude to migrants.
Michael McNamara’s comments come after an Oireachtas Justice Committee recommendation to regularise these migrants in Ireland was shot down.
The Department of Justice cited security reasons for the refusal – but Mr McNamara believes it’s unfair given the call to regularise the undocumented Irish in the US.
