Former Clare TD Hits Out Over Shannon-Dublin Pipeline

Irish Water insists all options surrounding the Shannon to Dublin pipeline have been exhaustively looked at and that it must go ahead as is.

Representatives from the utility have been answering questions before an Oireachtas committee this afternoon on its plans to proceed with the controversial 1.3 billion euro plan.

It would see water being drained away from the Parteen Basin in North Tipperary to supply the Midlands and Greater Dublin Area.
