Flood Defence Works In Clonlara Get Green Light From Planning Chiefs

An Bord Pleanala has granted planning permission for the construction of a flood defence embankment in Clonlara.

Clare County Council have been granted permission to go ahead with the project in a bid to protect homes within the Springfield community.

The area has experienced recurrent flooding in recent years.

Local Resident Gerardine Quinlivan says those affected by the flooding issues are delighted with the announcement that defence measures can now go ahead.
