A five-day weather alert for Clare and the rest of the country has come into effect this morning.
Met Éireann is forecasting wintry showers, with some accumulations of snow, widespread frost at night and icy stretches on untreated roads.
A more significant spell of snow is expected on Thursday, though the forecaster will update its weather warning later this morning.
