The first baby born in the new year at University Maternity Hospital Limerick arrived just four minutes after midnight.
The baby girl is said to be doing very well.
The first baby born in 2021 nationally is Dubliner Brody McWilliams Browne, born in the National Maternity Hospital in Dublin just moments after midnight.
