Fianna Fáil Warn Against New Commission For Judicial Appointments

The Dáil has heard claims that the choice of judges could be influenced by their positions on matters like abortion.

That’s the claim from Fianna Fáil which is continuing its campaign against plans to overhaul the way judges are chosen.

It says a new commission, dominated by lay people, could be vulnerable from campaigners on abortion or other divisive issues.
