Feasability Study Planned On Junction Improvements At Shanaway Road

A feasibility study of improvement works at a controversial junction in Ennis is to be carried out.

Clare County Council is drafting a design and report for improvements at the Shanaway Road junction with the Lahinch Road, to present to Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

It follows confirmation of €70,000 in funding to for works on the Carmody Street and the Drumbiggle Road junction and Ballymacahill Cross on the Tulla Road.

A number of residents in these areas have raised concern about safety at these junctions in recent weeks, with some saying they live in ‘mortal fear’ of an accident.
