Fears UL Students Will Be Left Without Accommodation

The UL Students' Union fears that many students will be left without accommodation for the coming semester.

TheUnion's Welfare Officer says expansions on courses within the University of Limerick and Mary Immaculate College in the past year, combined with a lack of supply, has led to an accommodation crisis.

With eight weeks to go to the beginning of the new semester, some students are already facing difficulties in securing a place to stay, while others are being forced to pay 95 euro a week for a room in a house with an E1 energy rating.

Caolan O'Donnell says every effort is being made to help struggling students but the situation has never been so bad in the past:
