Fears Thousand Of “Hidden Homeless” In Midwest Region

Midwest Simon is expecting a 35% annual increase in the number of people contacting them for help by year end.

The Simon Community this week released its annual report, which has predicted record numbers of homeless for 2018, with 13,000 accessing the charity’s services nationally between 2015 and 2017.

The latest available figures for Clare show 67 adults and 51 children were homeless in October, but Midwest Simon’s Housing Support Team Leader believes there are thousands here and across the region at risk of losing their home.
