Fears Any St. Joseph’s Restrictions Could Hit Other Health Services

Fears have been expressed that any limit on further admissions to St Joseph’s Hospital in Ennis, will have a serious impact on trolley numbers and waiting lists at local hospitals.

HIQA is imposing a restriction following a recent inspection of the facility, but it hasn’t taken effect as the HSE has lodged an appeal.

It comes as new figures show a significant rise in waiting lists at hospitals in Ennis and Limerick.
