Fears Of Impact Of Any Closure Of Regional Veterinary Lab

A Clare Vet has expressed concerns about the impact of the feared closure of the local regional veterinary lab.

A review of the nationwide network of labs is ongoing, and a group of around 40 farmers recently protested outside the facility at Knockalisheen near Meelick amid fears that it could be closed down.

The government has insisted that it is looking to improve access for farmers to the service, while maintaining the reputation of Irish food abroad.
