Fear Expressed That Lisdoonvarna Is Unprepared For Direct Provision Centre

A Cree man who experienced efforts to integrate refugees first hand has added his voice to fears Lisdoonvarna is unprepared for a planned direct provision centre.

The King Thomond Hotel is expected to open to asylum seekers from Monday next, initially taking 30 but that number is expected to grow to up to 115.

A public meeting on the matter is being held tomorrow night where locals will vote on a motion to appeal to the owner of the hotel to axe the plans.
