Farmers Suspend Agriculture House Sit-In

Farmers who’ve been occupying the Department of Agriculture have suspended their sit in pending talks with the Minister.

Around 250 farmers suffered heavy losses last year after poor weather destroyed their harvests and are demanding compensation.

But the price they were to be offered fell far short of expectations and a group of four farmers camped out in the Department of Agriculture.

Farmers agreed to end their sit in this evening after the Minister agreed to meet the IFA without preconditions tomorrow morning.
