Farmers “Disappointed” With Budget Provisions – McMahon

Clare’s ICMSA Chair has expressed disappointment at what he says was a lack of support for farmers in Budget 2021.

€1.8 billion has been allocated to the Department of Agriculture for next year – a €179 million increase on 2020.

The flat-rate of VAT for farmers will increase from 5.4% to 5.6%, while carbon tax is also set to increase by €7.50 per tonne – and will do so every year until 2029.
