Famous Artifacts Feared Missing In Notre Dame Fire Saved

A French priest has saved two famous artifacts feared missing in the Notre Dame fire.

Chaplain of the Paris Fire Brigade Jean-Marc Fournier entered the burning building with fire fighters last night and saved the Blessed Sacrament and the Crown of Thorns.

The crown is believed to be a relic of the wreath of thorns placed on the head of Jesus Christ at his crucifixion and was brought to Paris in 1238.

The fire, which is now fully extinguished has destroyed parts of the cathedral including the spire and ancient roof, but the two bell towers have been saved.
