Fall In Road Deaths In 2018 But Unwelcome Rise Recorded In Clare

149 people lost their lives on Ireland’s roads in 2018.

That’s a record low, and a 4 per cent drop when compared with the previous year.

In Clare, however, there was a rise in the number of road deaths last year, up by two to six people.

New drink driving legislation and further restrictions around unaccompanied learner drivers were brought in last year.
