Fall-off In Energy Use By Clare Businesses

Clare businesses consumed the equivalent of 91 tonnes of oil in energy in 2017.

It’s a nine-tonne drop on the year before, according to new figures released by the CSO.

In all energy costs for Banner businesses amounted to over €75.5 million that year, the lowest on record since 2009.

Throughout Ireland, an equivalent of 13,500 tonnes of oil worth of energy was used by business in 2017, the highest on record.
