Further Fall In Number Of People Staying Local

New data suggests a further fall in the number of people in Clare who are abiding by the public health regulation to stay close to our homes.

Using anonymised mobile phone activity records, the CSO has revealed a 2.4% drop in the number of people who stayed within 10km of their homes in the week to February 19th.

While every county saw a decline in this number, Clare’s drop is the third largest in the country.

The number of people staying local is down to 56.6%, which is eight points less than the natinoal average, although that is explained in part by the much higher rate of people in Dublin who are staying closest to their homes.
