Clare woman Sarah McTernan, who’s representing Ireland at the Eurovision has hit back at critics, saying the song contest “is not about politics”.

The 24 year old from Scarriff, will sing a song called ’22’ at the second Semi Final in Tel Aviv on May 16th.

Protests have been held by the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign, outside RTÉ over the song contest being held in the Israeli capital, while there has also been negative commentary online.

Sarah has been telling Clare FM’s Morning Focus that she’s trying not to let it affect her.
