Ennistymon To Hold Vigil For Dara Quigley

A vigil is taking place outside Ennistymon Garda Station this evening in memory of the late Dara Quigley.

The 36-year-old journalist and anti-water charges campaigner took her own life in April, only five days after being detained by Gardaí under the Mental Health Act.

She had been detained after walking naked in Dublin, following which Garda CCTV video footage of her arrest was posted on social media.

Her family have organised a vigil outside Leinster House this evening to highlight her suffering at that time and a number of events have been organised across the country to coincide with it.
