The National Transport Authority says it will continue to engage with Clare County Council with a view to providing an Ennis Town Bus Service.
The idea was first mooted in 2004, and in November 2017 a proposal calling on the council to urge the NTA to put a plan in place, received unanimous backing by Ennis Councillors.
Representatives from the NTA have since met with council officials in February of this year to examine a proposal, but no date has been set for a further meeting on the matter.
The NTA has now told Clare FM that the Ennis Town Bus Service is still in the planning stage.
But Fine Gael Councillor Johnny Flynn, who put forward the proposal, has been telling Clare FM’s Fona Cahill that he’s disappointed over the slow pace of work on the matter:
