Ennis Organ Recipient Highlights Importance Of Donation

An Ennis organ recipient says he’s still thankful 20 years later to a donor who provided him with a new kidney and lease of life.

The comments come ahead of Organ Donor Awareness Week which commences on Monday and is aimed at opening up a discussion about organ donation.

A total of 280 transplants were carried out in Ireland in 2016, the second highest annual amount achieved to date, an additional 16 Irish patients received transplants in the UK in the same year.
