Ennis Named Ireland’s Cleanest Town

Ennis has been named the cleanest town in Ireland.

The Minister for the Environment, Denis Naughton has made the announcement at a ceremony in Dublin this lunchtime.

He’s highlighted the special effort made by the people and businesses of Ennis and Clare County Council after the town was deemed Cleaner Than European Norms in the latest Irish Business Against Litter Survey.

Ennis received the top grade after all all link roads into the town were deemed as clean, and after the Westfield and Market Square areas were highlighted as two of the best spots.
