UHL Doctors Write Letter On Challenges Faced At Region’s Main Hospital

Senior clinicians in the UL Hospitals Group have written an open letter calling for politicians and the wider general public to come together in a bid to improve services.

The letter, signed by the Hospital Group’s Clinical Managers, argues that the MidWest receives less funding on a proportional basis than other hospital groups.

They insist there’s not enough doctors, nurses, inpatient beds or access to critical care, theatre or diagnostics, while step down facility beds or community services are also lacking.
