Terminally ill patients and their families will now have a more comfortable experience in the county’s main hospital.

The newly-opened Oak Room opened at Ennis General Hospital will provide a rest, shower and beverages facilities for families of loved ones coming to the end of their lives.

The room was developed at Ennis with the help of a €50,000 capital investment from the HSE, and is part of the phased redevelopment of the old hospital building.

CEO of UL Hospitals Groups Colette Cowan, says that this room will offer very practical help for families at a difficult time.
