Ennis Economist Says Difficult Policy Decisions Ahead For Government

An Ennis economist believes government has difficult policy decisions ahead of them in the coming months as the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic begins.

The Government’s budget deficit for 2020 is expected to be 19 billion euro, in contrast to a surplus of almost two billion back in 2019.

It means that Ireland is likely to have the smallest Government budget deficit of any euro area country in 2020.
