Ennis Economist Concerned As Rent Rises By €20 Per Week In A Year

An Ennis economist is expressing serious concern at news that workers in this county paying €20 a week more in rent than this time last year.

The body that decides Ireland’s living wage has announced a 20% increase in what’s required for a reasonable standard of living, now at €11.90 per hour.

This is while the legal minimum wage is set at just €9.55 an hour, while rent continues to increase across the country.
