Ennis Cave Diver: Coach “The Big Hero” Of Dramatic Cave Rescue

The Ennisman who took part in the rescue of the trapped football team in a Thai cave has spoken for the first time of the mission to save them.

Belgian national Jim Warny, who has lived in Clare for fifteen years, was one of the divers who helped to successfully rescue 13 people, 12 of them young boys, who had been trapped underground in a flooded cave.

He’s been hailed as a hero for volunteering to take part in the mission, but has played down this suggestion.
