After four years in place the boil notice in Ennis and its environs is finally set to be lifted.
Clare County Council says the new 9 million euro water treatment plant at Drumcliffe is now fully operational and it’s entered consultation with the HSE to lift the precautionary health warning.

Over 30 thousand residents in the greater Ennis area have been affected by the boil notice which was put in place following the detection of cryptosporidium in the supply in 2005.
