A 26 year old man who was seriously injured in an attack in Ennis on St Stephan’s night has passed away.
Brian Casey from Lissycasey suffered serious head injuries during the incident which took place in O’Connell Square around midnight on Saturday.
2 men appeared in court today charged with assault causing harm and were remanded in custody to appear again tomorrow.
Lissycasey man Brian Casey was out with friends in Ennis on St Stephan’s night when the attack happened in O’Connell Square in the town around midnight
He was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries but passed away this afternoon with his family by his side.
29 year old Harry Dinan with an address of 10 Waterpark Heights in Ennis and 22 year old Kevin Dinan of 3 Clarehill, Clarecastle appeared at a special sitting of Ennis District court charged with assault this afternoon
Judge Joseph Mangan remanded both men in custody to appear in court again tomorrow
Gardaí are also continuing to question a 38 year old woman in connection to the incident who’s being held at Shannon Garda Station.
